The hours spent as a TWS Intern can be applied as Community Service credits.

MILES TARDY NAMED BEST YOUTH ACTOR IN A MUSICAL AT THE EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY THEATER’S ANNUAL DASH AWARD GALA.
Byfield, MA – August 26, 2017 – This past Saturday night, Miles Tardy was named the Best Youth Actor in a Musical at the DASH Awards.  The Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors (DASH) program is a competitive theater awards program.  The DASH Gala is the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters (EMACT) equivalent of the Tony Awards ceremony.  This year 192 greater Boston productions were adjudicated as part of the DASH process. EMACT Reviewers watch and rate the performances and those with the highest ratings are nominated in various categories.
In July, Tardy was nominated for Best Youth Actor in a Musical for his performance as Billy Elliot in Marblehead Little Theatre’s production of Billy Elliot the Musical.  He was awarded the trophy at the annual EMACT DASH Gala held on Saturday, August 26th at Cary Hall in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Tardy, a Byfield resident, is a sophomore at the Pingree School in Hamilton, Massachusetts.  He has been acting in local productions since he first graced the stage at the Firehouse Theatre at age six.  He has acted in over 20 productions with local theater companies including Workshop Arts, Inc. and Acting Out! in Newburyport.  Tardy is best known for his performances with Boston Children’s Theatre in its main stage Boston productions as Stuart Little, in Stuart Little the Musical and this past spring in the critically acclaimed role of Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.
The mission of the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters (EMACT) is to encourage and promote community theater in Eastern Massachusetts through educational programming, supportive services and the recognition of excellence.  EMACT is a member of the American Association of Community Theaters (AACT).  A complete list of nominees and winners is at www.emact.org.
